This incredible milestone carries two decades of research, collaboration and improvement as we continue to build upon reliable solutions, delivering only the best.

The TEF-MET® That Kicked Us Off!
The first ever product SBS sold was a TEF-MET® bushing, for an order of SGD485.
Amongst our core products, SBS’s TEF-MET® is a highly versatile bushing due to its maintenance-free material and PTFE sliding layer. Featuring outstanding sliding and wear performance as well as high load capacity, this wrapped dry sliding bearing is a great option for construction machinery!
Our products and services have since grown to meet evolving industrial demands. We continue to develop new materials and designs, implementing inventive solutions for bearing failures.

Palm Oil Pioneers
15 years ago, SBS became the first company to recognise the usage and impact of wrong bearing materials in palm oil applications. We’ve since become a pioneer in delivering suitable solutions for trolleys and/or cages in both Indonesia and Malaysia.
Through participating in major palm oil projects and continuous research, we’ve developed a deep understanding of how to maximise performance and minimise downtime. Our hanger busing for screw conveyer mage, featuring SBS’s COM-KU®/D, lasts 13.000 hours! Additionally, the SBS team provides comprehensive plant assessments and a wide range of bushing products. Our bushing solutions for trolleys and cages feature proven lifespans of about 2 years.
SBS’s current mission includes identifying further improvements for palm oil mill machines. We argue that present bearing lifespans averaging 4-6 weeks can be pushed up to 4-5 times longer.
Hydropower Wins
Over the past 21 years, we’ve retained a reliable reputation in the Hydropower sector.
SBS has and continues to participate in major projects relating to turbine technology for overhauls, new builds, dam gates and hydromechanical structures.
The Xiang Jia Ba dam is located on the Jinsha River in the Yunnan and Sichuan provinces of southwest China, acting as China’s fourth-biggest hydropower station. We are proud to have supplied an estimated 2,000 pieces of our high-performance GAP-MET® bushings for the second biggest shiplifter in the world. The SBS team also delivered massive 600mm and 800mm diameter bushings, alongside 400mm diameter ball joints, with each joint weighing a staggering 1.7 tons.
SBS was also involved with the Wu Dong De Dam. Its design is amongst the tallest in the world at 240 m (787 ft), situated at the upper stretch of the Yangtze River. The SBS team proudly delivered 6 Spherical Bearings with our LUB-MET®️ and Stainless Steel combination, boasting an inner diameter (ID) of 1000mm and a weight of 4.7 tons each.
Managing the Pandemic
2020 taught us the importance of readiness when facing volatility and uncertainty.
Our first priority was our people. The SBS team quickly moved to safeguard employee health by educating personnel, implementing social distancing and systematically assessing risks. Split team arrangements were also adopted through remote working and digital collaboration.
With strong leadership, we connected with critical supply chain providers to identify their operational approach in providing vital products and services whilst developing integral structures for deliveries and exports from highly impact countries. Overall, solidifying resilience.

By leaning into this core philosophy, potential disruptions are managed through detailed understanding of at-risk suppliers, sites, parts and products. This level of operational insight secures constrained inventory and alternative capacity.
The ultimate testament to SBS’s strategic and robust framework is a successful coordination and delivery of 8 tonnes of material from Germany into the Hubei province. This project stands as testimony to SBS’s strategic and robust framework, overcoming economic uncertainty and propelling the company to taller heights.

WindWings® in 2023
In 2023, we played a pivotal role in the groundbreaking WindWings® project, proudly seeing both vessels, the Pyxis Ocean and Berge Olympus, off on their voyages.
Developed by BAR Technologies and Cargill in partnership with MC Shipping, WindWings® allow the ship to harness the power of the wind. This consumes less fuel and enables significant efficiency gains! We are thrilled to have been a part of this project and commend both for their sustainable practices.
SBS Team-Building
From the 15th to 17th of August 2025, SBS travelled over to Bintan for fun in the sun and sea!
We understand the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance. There is a hard limit to how long a person can remain highly focused. Working excessive often result in mistakes, brain fog, and uninspired work. When you protect your personal time, you return to your desk with sharper focus, renewed energy, and a higher capacity for creative problem-solving.
