The 27th of May 2025 marks an incredible milestone for all of us here at SBS – Singa Bearings Solutions Pte Ltd (hereafter known as SBS Bearings). We are officially celebrating 20 years in the business with customer-driven excellence! Our success is built on the foundation of high-performance industrial bearing solutions that keep global operations moving smoothly across 30 different countries.

Here at SBS, we have given and continue to give our very best to maintain our reputation in the sliding bearings business. We ensure our customers and their operations grow and thrive for years to come. Through the past two decades of careful research, meaningful collaboration, and continuous improvement in sliding bearings technology, we have managed to deliver only the best results. As we look back on our journey, here is some exclusive insight from an interview with Daniel Hallauer (Chief Executive Officer).

Interview: 20 Years of Customer-Driven Excellence

Congratulations on 20 years of SBS! How were you first inspired to get involved in the sliding bearings business?

Daniel Hallauer: “My father was the man who introduced me to the world of sliding bearings. I want to take this opportunity to thank him for showing me the ropes since I was a young boy. Thank you for believing in me when I chose to risk the unusual and take the road less travelled. You taught me never to settle for the ordinary, and this has made all the difference. You will always be a big part of SBS’s story – past, present, and future.”

Thank you for sharing, Daniel. What was the very first SBS® product to be sold?

Daniel Hallauer: “It was our TEF-MET® bushing for an order of SGD485!”

Great to hear! Our TEF-MET® has maintained its position as one of our core products. What are some of the biggest challenges SBS® Bearings has faced—and how did you overcome them?

Daniel Hallauer: “SBS has faced many challenges in the sliding bearings business. For instance, a client needed help designing bushings that were difficult to lubricate, facing severe contamination and overload. We addressed this by providing our technical expertise to design innovative self-lubricating bearings. Another challenge was delivering large-sized spherical bearings for a Hydropower Plant to Hubei Province from Germany by rail during the pandemic. We made it just in time before borders closed!”
